 TAC 101 (formerly known as New TAC) Training

This  TAC 101 training class is designed to help all TACs/ALT TACs, both new and those seeking a refresher and updates, to know and understand the basic responsibilities of being a TAC. Topics include user training and testing, the life cycle of a user, user management, and agency responsibilities. Please note that this class if required within the first 6 months of becoming a TAC or Alt TAC.

UCJIS Inquiry Training

This UCJIS Baseline training will cover how to “inquire” into UCJIS. UCJIS transactions that will be covered include DLQ, UCH, III, NCIC, QSW, MIL, and more. The training class is open to all UCJIS users who would like training on how to inquire into the different files available in the UCJIS system.

The next UCJIS Inquiry Training will be taught virtually on Thursday April 9th, 2026 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. To register, please use this link.

UCJIS Entry Training

This UCJIS Baseline training will cover how to “enter” into NCIC using UCJIS. UCJIS transactions that will be covered include how to enter articles, guns, missing persons, and clear, cancel, and locate NCIC entries. This training class is open to all UCJIS users who would like training on how to enter data into NCIC using the UCJIS system.

*Please note: this training has been revamped and expanded so it will no longer be a single day, but will cover two days with additional content and training information.

The next UCJIS Entry Training will be taught virtually on Wednesday April 1st 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Thursday April 2nd from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. To register, please use this link.

NIBRS Basic Training

This class will be for those individuals at law enforcement agencies that submit information to the State Uniform Crime Reporting Program using the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS). It covers NIBRS offenses, definitions, and the data elements and values captured within the data collection.

1st Quarter Virtual Training (formerly known as Region Training)

BCI Field Services is excited to provide important training to all criminal justice agencies. This 1st quarter offering is intended for all UCJIS users, not just agency TACs and Alt TACs. A description of each training presentation is listed below. Training will be taught virtually using Google Meet. Registered participants will receive a Google Meet link prior to the training.The training will be available on multiple days and times in order to accommodate as many attendees as possible. Two full-day sessions will be available as well as Wednesday evening breakouts where the topics will be trained in blocks.

Topics that will be trained include:
Welcome to UCJIS: an overview of what UCJIS is and how it functions for the everyday user as well as UCJIS reminders and updates.
 
The Tea on NCIC: An overview of NCIC and the life cycle of a NCIC record. 
 
To Enter or Not to Enter: NCIC Property Files: This class will test your knowledge on NCIC entry requirements, specifically for property files (i.e. guns, articles, vehicles). We will cover the criterion for entry, what to put in certain fields, how different items like hoverboards are entered, etc. Come ready to participate!
 
Ins and Outs of Felony Warrants: In this training, we will take a look at what a felony warrant is, who is affected by them and what to do with them if your agency receives one.
 
Security Awareness: UCJIS user level: Provides essential security awareness training for personnel with access to Criminal Justice Information (CJI), outlining individual responsibilities and expected behaviors when handling sensitive data.
 
The Ins and Outs of Dissemination: An overview of rules regarding dissemination and misuse of UCJIS data including an interactive knowledge test at the end.
